Are you getting an error when you try to run one of the calculators? Skip to the last section on this page for the fix.

Cleaning out your previous ANW tools:

1) If you have a handheld that has a previous version of the "ANW" or "tools" toolset on it, follow these instructions. If you are installing the tools for the first time on a new handheld, skip this first section and go to "Toolset Download Instructions" below.

2) Turn on your handheld and use the File Explorer program (located under programs on the iPAQs) to navigate yourself to the folder called "ANW", or "tools" if you have loaded a previous version of the newer toolset. This is the folder that contains the old toolset. Most people have this saved in My Documents, however it may be in the My Device folder or elsewhere on your handheld. Once you have found the folder "ANW" or "tools", delete that file. The easiest way to do this is to hold your stylet down on the file for a couple seconds and then a menu pops up that has "delete" as one of the options.

3) Once you have deleted the ANW folder from your handheld, you are ready to install the new toolset. Proceed to the next section below...

Toolset Download Instructions:

1) The downloadable file is a self-extracting file.

Click this link to download the file and save it to your desktop of the computer you can sync your handheld with.

2) You will now see an icon called "tools" on your desktop.

3) Click on the "tools" icon now located on your desktop.

4) Depending on your operating system, this will ask for a location to unzip/extract the toolset to ("Unzip to folder:"). Browse to your desktop and then click on the "Unzip" button.

5) You will now have an extracted "tools" file on your desktop.

6) Plug your handheld device into your computer and, then navigate to the "My Documents" folder on your handheld.

7) Drag the extracted "tools" folder from your computer desktop into the "My Documents" folder on your Handheld device. This will copy the files onto your handheld. If it gives you warnings, click "YES TO ALL". Wait for the file to finish copying, this may take several minutes.

8) Disconnect your handheld from the computer, open "File Explorer" in the programs menu. Navigate to My Documents, then into the tools folder, and click on the file that says index. This will open up the index page of the toolset.

9) You want to set this as your browser's homepage. Depending on your model, the homepage is usually set by clicking Internet Explorer's Menu, then Tools, then Options, then click USE CURRENT and that will set the current page you have open as your homepage. Now when you open Internet Explorer and click HOME, it will take you to the Index page for the ANW toolset.

I GET AN ERROR WHEN I TRY TO OPEN ONE OF THE CALCULATORS, BUT THE TEXT PAGES IN THE TOOLSET WORK FINE...

You likely need to install the file that provides the software to run the calculators on your handheld.

Click on this link to download it.

It is a zip file called "msvbppc.armv4".

You will follow the same procedure as in steps 1 and 2 above for this file. Then you will drag the zip file itself (instead of extracting/unzipping it like you did with the toolset above in steps 3, 4, 5) into the My Documents folder just as you did with the tools folder above in steps 6 and 7.

After the file has been moved to the handheld, unplug your handheld from the computer and navigate with File Explorer into the My Documents folder on the handheld where you moved the file to. You will see the file "msvbppc.armv4" in that directory. Click on the file. If it asks where to install, click on "Device". It will start installing itself on your handheld. If it asks if you want to continue, click "Yes". Now restart your handheld, and try opening one of the calculators in the toolset, it should work now.
